Our Team

Dr. Jerry L. Risser

Born in northern Indiana, Dr. Jerry Risser grew up in the Midwest before his move to Texas, where he attended high school and completed his Bachelors degree in Veterinary Science (1989) and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Texas A&M University (1992). He returned to Indiana after graduation, practicing in group practices in Bloomington and Fishers before launching Fall Creek Veterinary. Dr. Risser loves the opportunity  for "one-on-one" time with his clients and patients, and especially the role he can play in sharing the most up-to-date and helpful information available to help people best care for their pets.

Though Dr. Risser is excited by advancements in all areas of veterinary medicine, 
special interests include dermatology, endocrinology, and surgery, particularly soft-tissue procedures. His professional memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, and Indiana Veterinary Medical Association (IVMA). He was the past president, and is a current member, of the Central Indiana Veterinary Medical Association and the 2015 IVMA President. He has been involved with the Hamilton County Animal Task Force, been a recipient of the 2013 President's Award and 2021 Volunteer Award from the IVMA, and been a preceptor for a Shelter Medicine course with Indiana University. Dr. Risser 's community involvement includes the Marching Pride of Lawrence Township, and he is on the board of the KidsFirst foundation, which works in the area of international adoption and orphan care. As a proud Texas Aggie, he his current president of the Central Indiana Texas A&M Club.

In May of 2011, he completed a Master of Arts in Bioethics degree from Trinity International University, in Deerfield, Illinois, and is working toward an MA in Theological Studies now. He has delivered an animal welfare lecture at the American Scientific Affiliation, where he is a member.


Dr. Risser's wife, Rebecca, is a Speech/Voice Pathologist with IU Health. They have three children: son Jameson, a freshman at Michigan Technological University, and daughters Laine, a freshman at Central Michigan University, and Lydia, a junior at Lawrence North High School. The Risser family has four dogs, Pippa, a 9-year old who is a mix of a zillion breeds that include Boxer and Irish Setter, and is a happy, bouncy creature, Brecken, a 3-year old Miniature Australian Shepherd, Tima, a 2-year old Sheltie, and Scarlett, a  1-year old "Red Fox" Labrador Retriever.

Dr. Aaron M. Luth

Dr. Luth was born in Lafayette, Indiana and is a native of Attica, Indiana. Following high school he attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois where he graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine credentials from Purdue University in 2014. He enthusiastically joined Fall Creek Veterinary Medical Center as a full-time Associate Veterinarian in June of 2014. All have enjoyed his medical skills, ready smile, and warm professionalism. He became a part-owner in the practice in 2021.

Dr. Luth's largest areas of interest in the veterinary field include small animal internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, and ultrasound. He, among our doctors, exclusively performs ultrasound services. When not practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Luth enjoys various hobbies including drawing, painting, and woodworking, and has published medical illustrations. He also enjoys spending time outdoors, with particular interests in both freshwater and saltwater fishing, waterfowl hunting, and shooting sports. He and his wife, Megan, were married in 2017, and reside in Noblesville. They have two beautiful daughters: Caroline, born in 2019, and Margot, born in 2021.
 
The Luths have two dogs: Lucy, a 10-year old golden retriever, and Poppy, a cavapoo that just celebrated her third birthday.
 
Dr. Luth is a member of several local and national veterinary organizations. These include the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association (IVMA), the Central Indiana Veterinary Medical Association (CIVMA), and the Purdue Veterinary Alumni Association (PVAA). He recognizes the importance of organized veterinary medicine and has a true appreciation of the value of the highest medical standards. He has served on the Executive Board of the CIVMA as a Member-at-Large.
 
With two Aggies already in the practice, it seemed high time for a doctor who could proudly declare: Boiler Up, Hammer Down, and Hail Purdue!

Dr. Katherine (Katie) Becker                        

Dr. Becker was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana, growing up the child of her veterinarian father. Following high school she attended Purdue University in West Lafayette where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 2014. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue in 2017. After graduation she worked in Crawfordsville, Indiana, for one year before deciding to move to the Indianapolis area with her husband, Tim. They currently reside in Hamilton County.
 

Dr. Becker’s largest interests in include ophthalmology, dermatology and dentistry. She particularly enjoys the opportunity to teach and to work “one-on-one” with clients.
 

In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog Riley.  She and her husband are also very involved in their local church. She also enjoys painting, home projects, reading, and spending time outdoors. In the summer she enjoys spending time with her family at Dale Hollow Lake in Kentucky.

Sydney Paschal

Sydney is the Director of Nursing Staff. She grew up in Pendleton, Indiana, and is a graduate of the International Business College Vet Tech Institute. She primarily works with our outpatients, where she thoroughly enjoys the opportunity to both educate and learn every day, and to see our patients grow (her enthusiasm for puppy and kitten appointments is infectious!). She also has extensive responsibilities caring for hospitalized patients, where, in her words, "if there are problems with patients, it's a privilege to be able to assist in "fixing" them to make them healthy and happy again!" In time away from the practice, Sydney loves hiking, crossfit, traveling and spending time with her energetic Great Danes, Kylo and Mae!

Heather is the Director of Patient Resources. Heather grew up on her family’s hobby farm in southern Indiana, where they kept Shetland sheep and horses.  After high school she attended IUPUI where she completed her paralegal certification. Heather then decided to change her path and attended the Veterinary Technology Institute in Fort Wayne. After completing her schooling she went on to obtain her license as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). Heather and her husband have two dogs, Freyja and Astra, and one cat, Hazel. In her free time Heather enjoys horseback riding, exploring new vegan cuisine, and caring for her garden and houseplants.

Jamie Kauffman

Jamie Kauffman

Jamie is the Director of Inpatient Serivces. She gives care to our inpatients whether they are here for a few hours or for weeks at a time. Most of her duties involve direct patient care, such as walking, cleaning and feeding, but she also assists in many areas of the hospital. A native of Noblesville and graduate of Noblesville High School, Jamie has been married for 6 years to her husband, Aaron, and they have a 5-year old son, Mason. Furry children include a 4-year old rescue Chug (Chihuahua/ Pug mix) named Bella and three cats, Zoe, Bailey, and Layla. Unsurprisingly, her favorite thing about working for us is spending her day looking after the animals and the which whom people she works. When not occupied with our patients, as a busy mom, Jamie's hobbies include doing different outdoor activities with her family, like zoo trips, hiking, or parks. She also loves books and music and "tries" to read or listen to music whenever time and the demands of life allow.

Mellissa Wilson's is often the first big smile clients see as they enter our office and check in at the front desk. She grew up on the east side of Indianapolis and attended John Marshall High School.  She and Phil, her husband of 13 years, have two dogs, "Labrajacks" Dolche and Pepper, with whom they share fun times and their home near Fortville. Mellissa loves her job, with opportunities in this environment to see all the different breeds, and playfully interact with the animals. She also enjoys interactions with the humans who appreciate her warm and caring attitude. When away from her role in Client Services, she spends as much time as possible in nature with her family, two- and four-legged, especially fishing and camping.

Kim is from Columbus, Ohio where her and her husband Jeff raised their daughter Brooke. Kim has always loved animals. Prior to moving to Indiana, her family raised Akitas and showed them competitively. Kim currently has one Akita named Murphy along with one grand-dog, Chloe the Frenchie, who lives in California with her daughter Brooke. Kim and her husband moved to Indiana in 2018 when her husband started his own research and development company studying wound care and prosthetics. After nearly 25 years of experience as a client services member in human medicine, combined with her love for animals, Kim truly enjoys working as a client services member on our team.

Grace Corman

Grace Corman

Grace is a McCordsville native, a graduate of Mount Vernon High School, and currently is studying to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She began her career with us doing inpatient care, but now serves with the outpatient nursing team. She always knew she wanted to work in veterinary medicine, but her years working with our kennel and inpatients confirmed her desire to become a veterinary technician. She is currently apart of Purdue Veterinary Nursing Distance Learning Program. Our patients (and their humans, too!) love Grace's friendly, reassuring and kind manner. She enjoys her own pets, Ronnie, Bernese Mountain Dog, and Charlie, a turtle. Grace is a busy dog-sitter when not working with us, and also enjoys photography.

Tahni is a member of the Nursing Care team. Tahni enjoys gymnastics, sketching and fostering litters of kittens in her free time. During her time in gymnastics her greatest achievement was winning the title as Regional Champion for Level 8 Uneven Bars. Tahni has one dog, a Shiba Inu named Pepsi, and three cats named Kukri, Toffee, and Valkyrie. She truly enjoys working with animals and hopes to make a difference in the lives of the animals through her work here and through fostering.

Outside of work, she loves skating, kayaking, gym training, and shopping. She loves working with animals and has always wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.

Inpatient Care Team

Our Inpatient Care team provides loving and attentive care to our patients, including walking, feeding, and showing tons of affection. Dedicated and hardworking, this team might be more "behind-the-scenes" but are an invaluable part of our practice. Check back for updated pictures and bios coming in 2022!

Brenna Smith
Brenna is a Fishers native and is currently a sophomore in high school. She has a silver Lab named Zuma, a tabby cat named Tootie, and a Thoroughbred named Sega. She loves working at FCV for the animals and friendly environment. Her hobbies outside of work are horseback riding, soccer, unified sports, baking, and art. 

Isabelle Hernandez
Isabelle is from McCordsville and is a junior in high school. She has a pug named Sophie, two cats named Sassie and Binx, two mini donkeys named Ollie and Andy, a small herd of mini goats, and some chickens. She enjoys working with animals. Her hobbies include soccer, baking, cooking, reading, crafts, arts, outdoor activities, and growing flowers and produce at her family farm, Brickhouse Farm.

Hannah grew up in Royersford, PA and lives in McCordsville. She's a freshman in high school. She has a sheepadoodle named Peyton and a Maine Coon named Chewbacca. She loves working at FCV because she loves animals. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, art, gaming, baking, and music, especially piano and violin. 

Kaitlyn Mayse
Kaitlyn is from McCordsville and is a freshman at Mt. Vernon High School. She has a Sheepadoodle named Peyton and a Maine Coon named Chewy. Her interests include biology and marine biology, zoology, art, and music. Kaitlyn decided to work at Fall Creek Vet Med Center because she loves animals and loves to care for them. She loves gaining experience working here so she can continue her career in veterinary medicine.

Matthew Mills
Matthew grew up in Fishers and is a high school student at Hamilton Southeastern. He has a Great Pyrenees/Anatolian shepherd mix named Bella and a cat named Spot. Matt loves working with animals, especially dogs. His hobbies include music, sports and weight lifting, cars, traveling, and outdoor activities like paintball and hiking.

Jessica Meyer
Jessica lives in the Fishers area. She has earned a Bachelor's of Science in Animal Science. She has two dogs, Magnolia (a lab mix) and Cadet (a coonhound mix) and two cats, Reagen and Nimbus. Her interests include music, drawing, crochet, knitting, sewing, writing, and baking. Jessica knew she wanted to be a veterinarian at 3 years old, after witnessing her family dog get hit by a car. Fortunately, Brisco survived the incident with just a few scrapes, but Jessica was impacted forever, and knew right then she wanted to help save animals.

Lauren Thomas
Lauren is from Fishers and is a senior at Hamilton Southeastern High School. She has one cat named Regan. Her hobbies outside of work include participating in FFA, spending time with friends and family, and animals. Lauren will be attending Purdue in the fall of 2022 and is majoring in Animal Science at the College of Agriculture. 

Ashlynn McLaughlin
Ashlynn grew up in McCordsville and is a junior at Mt. Vernon High School. She has a Golden Retriever named Libby. Outside of work, she loves hanging out with friends and family, especially camping. She decided to work at Fall Creek Vet Med Center because she loves animals. She intends to pursue a career in marine biololgy.

Jennifer Rivera is from Fishers and is a freshman at Ivy Tech Community College. She is majoring in Business Administration. She has a pit bull named Oliver. Her interests include relaxing, hiking, and hanging out with Oliver. Jennifer first came to Fall Creek Vet Med Center after her sister began working in the kennel, and loves taking care of the animals here.
