Attendance for our 3rd puppy party was up to a record 11 puppies!
(Granted, 3 of them were brought by employees, but I think it's safe to
say nearly everyone had a good time.) This month we were joined by a
retinue that ranged from tiny to robust, and from a little shy all the
way up to extremely outgoing. On the smaller side of the scale were
Kobie and Braxton, a couple of tiny Yorkie pups that spent their time
getting cuddled by the human components of the party. Also in attendance
was an interested but shy Zoey, who wanted to watch all goings-on from
the safety of her Mama's lap. Butters and Brennan the Boston Terrier
puppies were back in attendance, though Brennan was far more interested
in furthering his relationship with little Callie the Westie than with
playing with the other puppies. When Callie firmly put an end to their
affair, Brennan took advantage of Otis the Sheepdog's arrival to make a
furious bid for freedom. After his apprehension and return to the party,
he spent the rest of his time sulking under Callie's mom's chair. The
Collie pups Kitt & Rita spent most of their time herding everyone, with
Otis' help, of course. Riley and Maggie the golden puppies were
fascinated with each other, though Riley kept getting pulled away and
into the fray with Kitt, Rita, and Otis.
I was very happy to announce that our next few puppy parties will be
monthly, until (or if?) attendance starts to fall back a bit. Our
lobby is only big enough to hold 10-11 puppies comfortably, so from
here on out we're going to try to keep to a sign-up list to prevent
over-crowding, and a repeat of Brennan's escape attempt. [Kali, our
surgery technician (and Brennan's mother!) was mortified to hear of
Brennan's runaway attempt, and has since sought post-relationship
counseling for him. :)]
I was also excited to announce that the next
puppy party will involve my two brand-new Collie puppies.. since they
will be exactly 8 weeks old and ready to play!
We can't wait to see everyone on Saturday, July 26th, from Noon to 2. Please call ahead and reserve your spot! Feedback from attendees is always appreciated, and as always, if you have any questions or problems that arise between parties, please call or e-mail and we’ll be happy to help you!
Thanks to all the pups and owners that made our Puppy Party such a good time! If you have any pictures or video, please e-mail it to me, and I'll put it in our puppy party web gallery! Jamie Davis, Technical Nursing Staff
